If you can get newspapers from other cities - why not tv stations? If you can use the Internet to get access to other tv stations, why can't you get them over your satellite dish? If you can use technology to get more tv stations via your computer or your tv, why can't you get more network stations on your satellite dish?
You can't because the law doesn't allow it. It is not possible to get more tv stations via satellite because current law limits satellite consumers' access to all but a few distant market tv stations to make up for the ones you can't get locally. Households that can't receive their local tv stations over-the-air with a rooftop antenna are permitted to get only one (or two) out of market tv station(s) representing each network. If your satellite provider offers the local tv stations via satellite, you can't get any additional network tv stations.
The government should be helping its citizens get access to MORE information; not less. The benefits of technology should not be restricted only to those with a broadband connection and a computer or some high tech gadget.
Help change the law. Fill out the box to the right to sign the My TV - my way" petition today and let Congress know that the law should be changed. |
